Options for Earning Credits
with Grad Solutions and Smart Schools
There are several ways to earn credits as you pursue your diploma:
-
Prescriptive Test
Students may take a Prescriptive Test before beginning a new course. This is an optional proctored assessment that can be taken on certain courses before any coursework is completed. When a student demonstrates material competency, the course will then be modified by removing lessons and quizzes from the course allowing for acceleration.
Talk to your mentor or advisor about this opinion before beginning a new course.
-
Credit By Exam
This allows a student to take a proctored exam to demonstrate minimum competency of the course content. Students earn a pass/fail grade and credit.
The minimum for passing the course is 60%. The course will not be calculated in your GPA. Your mentor/advisor will review the potential consequences for your GPA and those pursuing the University Pathway.
To complete a course through this option, speak with your mentor or advisor.
-
Full Course with Continuous Teacher Support
This is the ‘traditional’ method to earn credit for a course. Simply select a new class with the assistance of your mentor/advisor and enroll. You’ll work your way through the full course while receiving support from one of our highly qualified instructors along the way!
-
Work Study
Our work-study program allows students to earn elective credit while working at their current job! Up to two full elective credits may be earned for current employment documented through paystubs or W2’s.

Service Learning
