The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an online application students complete to get financial help for college or other eligible programs that charge tuition.

Every student attending a tuition-based program like trade school, community college, or university is required to fill out a FAFSA to be eligible for federal financial aid. This can include grants, loans, and scholarships.
